Travel to Wallis and Futuna
Wallis and Futuna is a remote French territory in the South Pacific, made up of two island groups where three traditional kings still share authority with the French state. Wallis, also called Uvea, is ringed by a lagoon with small islets and has crater lakes such as Lalolalo, as well as the stone churches of Mata-Utu.
Futuna and neighbouring Alofi, far to the southwest, are mountainous and green, and Alofi is almost uninhabited. Tourism is minimal, and the islands offer a rare glimpse of traditional Polynesian life.
