Description
Taboga (Isla Taboga) is a small Pacific island off Panama City, known as the “Island of Flowers” for its lush tropical vegetation. The island combines tranquil beaches and forested hills with the historic village of San Pedro, whose origins date back to the early 16th century. Taboga played a role both during the Spanish colonial era and in the French attempt to build the Panama Canal in the 19th century. Bougainvillea-lined streets, the historic Church of San Pedro, and sweeping views across the Bay of Panama define the island’s character. Its relaxed atmosphere and proximity to the capital make Taboga a popular escape just off the coast of Panama City.
