Description
Sliema is a modern and lively coastal centre in Malta, located directly across from the historic capital of Valletta on the Grand Harbour. The densely built-up town is known for its extensive waterfront promenade, numerous restaurants, cafés and shops, as well as views of Valletta’s fortified skyline. Rather than sandy beaches, the coastline is characterised by rocky stretches and popular bathing spots. Sliema combines urban life with a distinctly maritime atmosphere and is also an important departure point for ferry connections to Valletta and boat excursions along the Maltese coast. Its central location and good transport links make it a popular base for exploring Malta.
