Description
Seven Mile Beach is the reason most people come to Grand Cayman, a crescent of coral sand running north from the capital that is actually about ten kilometres long rather than eleven. Nearly every large hotel on the island stands on it, and the whole strip is public land to the high water mark, so the sand is walkable end to end. The bottom shelves gently and there is no surf worth mentioning. Sunset is a fixture, and the shallow reef at Cemetery Beach at the northern end is snorkelled straight from the shore. George Town sits at the southern end of the strip.
