Santa Catalina is a laid-back fishing village on Panama’s Pacific coast and one of the country’s best-known surfing destinations. The coastal village is famous for its legendary right-hand point break, tropical beaches, and proximity to Coiba National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with exceptionally rich marine ecosystems. Diving and snorkeling trips depart from Santa Catalina for the park’s islands and waters, home to sharks, rays, sea turtles, dolphins, and large schools of fish. Combining world-class surfing and diving with a relaxed atmosphere, Santa Catalina is considered the main gateway to Coiba National Park.
