Description
Ribe is Denmark's oldest town and captivates visitors with its exceptionally well-preserved medieval center. Founded around AD 700 as an important Viking trading settlement, Ribe brings its early history to life at the Ribe VikingeCenter, where reconstructed buildings and living history demonstrations recreate the Viking Age. During the summer season, the traditional Night Watchman leads evening walks through the old town, keeping a centuries-old custom alive. Situated on the edge of the UNESCO-listed Wadden Sea, Ribe combines medieval heritage, Viking history, and the sweeping landscapes of Denmark's marshlands.
