Description
North Sound is a wide reef-enclosed bay at the top of Virgin Gorda with no road to most of it, so the resorts and bars around its shore are reached by boat and the sound itself is the street. Bitter End and Saba Rock face each other across a narrow channel and have been the eastern terminus of Caribbean yachting for decades. The water inside the reef is flat and steady in the trade wind, which makes it one of the best places anywhere to learn to sail. Anegada lies fifteen miles north across open water.
