Description
Cane Garden Bay is the beach of Tortola, a deep sheltered horseshoe on the north coast reached by a road so steep over the ridge that rental agreements mention it. Yachts anchor in rows in the bay and their crews come ashore for the beach bars, which give the place a nightlife the rest of the island lacks. The Callwood distillery has made rum here in the same stone building for two centuries using a copper pot still. Sugar mill ruins stand among the palms behind the sand. Road Town lies twenty minutes away over the ridge.
