Jost Van Dyke
British Virgin Islands · 5 m
Description
Jost Van Dyke has about three hundred residents and a reputation out of all proportion to that, because White Bay is where the Painkiller was invented and the Soggy Dollar Bar got its name from sailors swimming ashore with wet money. There is no dock at White Bay, so that is still how people arrive. Great Harbour next door is where Foxy's has held its New Year party for decades. The Bubbly Pool on the north coast is a rock basin where swell surges through a gap and turns the water to foam. The ferry from Tortola takes half an hour.
