Las Galeras
Dominican Republic · Samaná · 5 m
Description
Las Galeras is a laid-back coastal village at the eastern tip of the Samaná Peninsula in northeastern Dominican Republic and an ideal base for exploring its unspoiled coastline. The small village is known for its relaxed atmosphere, tropical scenery, and beautiful beaches such as Playa Rincón, Playa Frontón, and Playa Madama, some of which can only be reached by boat or hiking trails. Around Las Galeras, palm-fringed bays and dense coastal forests meet a largely undeveloped Caribbean shoreline, while the underwater landscapes near Cabo Cabrón attract divers with dramatic rock formations and steep walls. Las Galeras is a peaceful alternative to the Dominican Republic’s larger resort areas and is particularly suited to beach holidays, nature experiences, and authentic Caribbean charm away from large hotel complexes.
