Description
Bayahíbe is a former fishing village on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic and a popular hub for boating, snorkeling, and diving excursions. The coastal village is best known as a gateway to Saona and Catalina islands in Cotubanamá National Park, as well as for its clear Caribbean waters, coral reefs, and wreck dives at the St. George. Bayahíbe combines a relaxed village atmosphere with the beaches of Dominicus, Taíno caves, cenotes, and tropical nature along the Padre Nuestro Trail. The laid-back coastal destination offers a quieter, more nature-oriented alternative to the large resorts of the east coast, while La Romana and the exclusive Casa de Campo resort are only a few kilometers away.
