Short description of Kara
Kara is the main town of the north and the base almost everyone uses before heading out to see the tower houses of Koutammakou, a short drive further on. It sits well past the point where the rains split into one single wet season instead of the coast's two, which makes the whole calendar here run differently. The market supplies the whole of the Kabiyè farming country all around it. There is a small regional museum and very little else built for visitors, since the town's whole role is logistics rather than sights of its own.
