Description
Ebeltoft kept its crooked half timbered lanes because the railway never came and the harbour silted up, so the town simply stopped growing and is now the best preserved of its size in Jutland. Its town hall from 1789 is the smallest in the country and looks it. On the waterfront lies the frigate Jylland, the longest wooden ship in the world, restored over forty years after a century of rotting. Around the town are the dead ice hills of Mols Bjerge, and inland at Nimtofte the busiest amusement park in Denmark after the two Tivolis.
