Description
Blokhus is the middle of the Danish holiday coast, a village of low houses behind a dune with a beach so wide and so hard that cars drive onto it and park in rows facing the North Sea. The water is cold and the wind is dependable, which is more or less the point of the place. Behind the dunes are thousands of holiday houses, most of them let to Germans and Norwegians week by week through the summer, and the largest amusement park in Jutland sits ten kilometres inland at Saltum. Out of season almost nothing is open and the beach belongs to the dog walkers again.
