Description
Bahía de las Águilas is a secluded bay in the southwest of the Dominican Republic and is considered one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in the Caribbean. The roughly eight-kilometre stretch of white sand lies within the protected Jaragua National Park and is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, pristine coastal scenery and remarkable tranquillity. Its remote location and lack of large-scale tourist development make the bay an exceptional destination for nature lovers and those seeking peace and solitude. The surrounding national park is also home to Laguna de Oviedo, known for its flamingos and iguanas, as well as Hoyo de Pelempito, a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the region’s rugged karst landscape.
