Ayia Napa, Cyprus

Ayia Napa

Cyprus · Famagusta District · 20 m

Description

Ayia Napa (Agia Napa) is the busiest resort in Cyprus and the island's best known party town, built around a sixteenth century monastery that still stands quietly in the middle of the nightlife. Nissi Beach and Makronissos draw crowds to fine white sand and water that stays turquoise and shallow far out. The coast east of town breaks into sea caves, arches and small coves cut into pale limestone. Beyond the clubs the town runs a working fishing harbour, a sculpture park on the cliffs and the largest underwater sculpture museum in the Mediterranean. Out of season the resort empties almost entirely.
