Voss is a mountain-ringed town on Lake Vangsvatnet and is widely regarded as Norway’s capital of extreme sports. The region is renowned for activities such as paragliding, skydiving, white-water rafting, kayaking, canyoning and mountain biking. Its annual Ekstremsportveko is one of the world’s leading extreme sports festivals, attracting an international community of adventure and outdoor enthusiasts. Voss is also an important transport hub between Bergen and the fjord region, making it a convenient base for exploring western Norway. The Voss Gondol cable car climbs Mount Hanguren, offering panoramic views over the lake and surrounding mountains.
