Description
The Sognefjord (Sognefjorden) is Norway’s longest and deepest fjord and is often referred to as the “King of the Fjords”. Stretching for around 205 kilometers from the coast deep into the heart of the country, it branches into numerous spectacular arms, including the Aurlandsfjord and the narrow Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Steep mountain slopes, glaciers, waterfalls, and picturesque villages shape the landscape, making the region one of Scandinavia’s most impressive natural environments. Reaching depths of more than 1,300 meters, the Sognefjord is also one of the deepest fjords in the world and one of Norway’s most iconic natural landmarks.
