Soufrière, Saint Lucia

Soufrière

Saint Lucia · 10 m

Description

Soufrière is the old French capital of St. Lucia and sits directly beneath the Pitons, the two volcanic spires that rise out of the sea and put the island on every poster it has ever been on. They are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Gros Piton can be climbed in about four hours. Around the town are the sulphur springs, which a road runs into the crater of, the botanical gardens and Diamond Falls, and Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin, two dark sand bays with reef starting a few metres from the beach.
