Rodney Bay
Saint Lucia · Gros Islet · 5 m
Description
Rodney Bay is the tourism engine of St. Lucia, a lagoon cut into the north coast in the 1970s and now filled by a marina where the transatlantic rally finishes every December. Reduit Beach is the sand, the strip behind it the restaurants and bars, and Gros Islet next door turns its main street into an open air party every Friday night that has been running for decades. Pigeon Island, once a real island and now joined to the shore by a causeway, carries the ruins of Fort Rodney and the best short climb on the island.
