Description
Marigot Bay is a narrow inlet on the west coast hidden behind a palm covered sand spit, deep enough for yachts and so completely enclosed that a British admiral is said to have dressed his ships with palm fronds inside it and watched a French fleet sail past. It is now a marina and a small resort, and it stands in for a lot of the Caribbean on film, most famously in the 1967 Doctor Dolittle. There is very little to do beyond the water, which is the point. The ferry across the inlet takes about ninety seconds.
