Siwa (سيوة) is a remote oasis town in western Egypt near the Libyan border, offering a fascinating blend of nature, history, and Berber culture. The oasis is known for its expansive palm and olive groves, shimmering salt lakes, freshwater springs, and traditional mud-brick architecture. Siwa gained historical importance through the ancient Oracle of Amun, which was renowned throughout antiquity and visited by Alexander the Great in 331 BC. The oasis has preserved a distinct Siwi culture, including its own Berber language and traditional way of life. Surrounded by desert, ruins, springs, and lush greenery, Siwa offers a remarkable sense of isolation and authenticity.
