Puerto Jiménez is a small harbor town on the Golfo Dulce on the eastern side of the Osa Peninsula and an important hub for nature and adventure travel in southern Costa Rica. The town is known as a gateway to Corcovado National Park, with its species-rich rainforests, mangroves, tropical coastlines, and frequently sighted scarlet macaws. Puerto Jiménez combines rural charm and a gold-mining past with kayaking, dolphin watching, and excursions into the peninsula’s largely unspoiled wilderness.
