Description
Nuuksio National Park (Nuuksion kansallispuisto) protects a vast landscape of forests and lakes just 30 kilometres northwest of Helsinki and is one of the most popular natural destinations in the Finnish capital region. The park is known for its tranquil lakes, rugged rocky ridges, extensive pine and spruce forests, and diverse wildlife, including elk, numerous bird species, and the rare European flying squirrel. Well-marked hiking trails, nature paths, campfire sites, and wilderness huts make Nuuksio an ideal destination for day trips and longer hikes.
