Nuuksio National Park (Nuuksion kansallispuisto) protects a vast landscape of forests and lakes just 30 kilometres northwest of Helsinki and is one of the most popular natural destinations in the Finnish capital region. The park is known for its tranquil lakes, rugged rocky ridges, extensive pine and spruce forests, and diverse wildlife, including elk, numerous bird species, and the rare European flying squirrel.
