Description
Naantali is a picturesque seaside town on Finland's southwest coast, about 15 kilometres west of Turku. It is best known for its charming Old Town of colourful wooden houses, its sheltered harbour, and its scenic location amid the Finnish Archipelago. Families are drawn to Moomin World on nearby Kailo Island, a theme park dedicated to the beloved Moomin characters created by Finnish-Swedish author Tove Jansson. Historic lanes, waterfront cafés, the medieval convent church, and the region's comparatively mild climate give Naantali its relaxed atmosphere. As a long-established spa and summer resort and the location of the Finnish president's official summer residence, Naantali is one of the most popular destinations on Finland's southwest coast.
