Mount Heha

Description
Mount Heha is the highest ground in Burundi at just under two thousand seven hundred metres, on the Congo Nile crest half an hour of climbing road southeast of the lake. There is no park here and no gate, no marked path, no hut and no ranger. A paved road becomes gravel and ends at a ridge village, where a guide is agreed with the chiefs, and farm and forest tracks lead up the north ridge to a cairn that visitors built themselves. The walk takes about an hour. The drive up the escarpment is the larger part of the day.
