Description
The Matobo Hills are a field of granite that has weathered into balancing boulders and whalebacks over two thousand square kilometres, and they have been a sacred landscape for far longer than any state in the region has existed. They hold one of the densest concentrations of rock art on earth, painted by San people over several thousand years, and the highest density of leopards and of black eagles anywhere. Rhodes is buried on one of the domes at a place he called View of the World. Rhino tracking on foot is the other reason people come.
