Description
Maasai Mara National Reserve is Kenya’s most famous safari destination and part of the wider Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Its sweeping grasslands are renowned for exceptional wildlife density, large lion populations and good chances of seeing elephants, leopards, buffalo and, with luck, rhinos. The reserve is especially spectacular during the Great Migration, when vast herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move through the ecosystem and cross the Mara River. Sunrise hot-air balloon safaris offer breathtaking views over the savannah, while the Mara Triangle is known for abundant wildlife and carefully managed tourism. Visits to Maasai communities add cultural insight to the classic safari experience.
