Description
Lillehammer is a historic town on the shores of Lake Mjøsa and is internationally known for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics. The town is renowned for the distinctive Lysgårdsbakken ski jumping hills, the Olympic bobsleigh and luge track at Hunderfossen, and Maihaugen open-air museum, home to more than 200 historic buildings from different periods. Lillehammer combines Norwegian culture and sporting heritage with a scenic setting between the lake and the mountains. The town is also a popular base for experiencing nature, winter sports, and exploring the diverse landscapes of the Gudbrandsdalen valley.
