Description
Liberia is the capital of Guanacaste Province in northwestern Costa Rica and an important regional center for culture, commerce, and transportation. Known as the “White City”, it is characterized by traditional architecture, historic adobe houses, and the Calle Real, as well as Guanacaste’s distinctive cattle-ranching and sabanero traditions. Liberia combines local culture and colonial heritage with a convenient location near volcanoes, national parks, hot springs, and the beaches of the Pacific coast. With its international airport, the city serves as a major gateway to northwestern Costa Rica and an ideal base for exploring Guanacaste.
