Description
La Digue is the third inhabited island of the Seychelles and the one that appears on the postcards, a small place where bicycles and ox carts outnumber cars and the roads run flat along the coast. Anse Source d'Argent is the most photographed beach in the world by some counts, a series of shallow pools between enormous weathered granite boulders reached through a working coconut plantation. Grand Anse on the east coast is wilder and unswimmable in the trade winds. The whole island can be cycled in a day. Ferries from Praslin take fifteen minutes and run through the day.
