La Corbière

Description
La Corbière is the south western tip of Jersey, a spread of pink granite reefs where a white lighthouse stands on a rock of its own. It was the first lighthouse in the British Isles built of concrete, and it is reached by a causeway that floods on the rising tide, with a siren warning walkers to turn back. Above it a square German naval observation tower from the occupation looks down the coast and is now let to visitors. The old railway line from St Aubin ends here as a footpath. The headland faces due west and draws a crowd at sunset.
