Short description of Harper
Harper stands at the far southeastern corner of the country on the headland of Cape Palmas, as far from the capital as it is possible to get by road. It was settled as a separate colony and built itself mansions in an American style, most of which now stand roofless and full of trees. A lighthouse looks out from the point over a long and empty coast. The Cavalla river marks the frontier a short way east and is crossed by ferry. Getting here is the whole difficulty and the reason so few people do.
