Description
Grenville is the second town of Grenada and the market town of the windward side, a working place of fishing boats and Saturday trading that sees very few of the island’s visitors. What brings people over the mountains is the belt of estates behind it. Belmont Estate still processes cocoa the old way and serves lunch on the terrace, the River Antoine distillery has been pressing cane with a working waterwheel since 1785 and bottles rum at seventy five percent, and the nutmeg station at Gouyave has a counterpart here that shows the drying trays and the grading floor.
