Drake Bay (Bahía Drake) lies on the remote northwestern coast of the Osa Peninsula in southwestern Costa Rica and is one of the country’s most pristine natural regions. Surrounded by dense tropical rainforest, secluded beaches, and wildlife-rich waters, the bay is best known as a gateway for guided excursions into Corcovado National Park and for boat, snorkeling, and diving trips to Isla del Caño. Dolphins, sea turtles, and numerous tropical bird species are part of the region’s diverse wildlife, while humpback whales can be spotted seasonally offshore. With its secluded setting, remarkable biodiversity, and largely untouched landscapes, Drake Bay offers an immersive nature experience far from Costa Rica’s more developed tourist destinations.
