Chutes du Carbet

Description
The Chutes du Carbet are the most visited natural site in Guadeloupe, three waterfalls on one river dropping down the eastern flank of the volcano inside the national park. The first falls 125 metres and the second 110, while the third is only twenty metres high but carries the most water. The second is what almost everybody comes for, twenty minutes on a paved path from the car park, which is why it takes the crowds. Reaching the first needs two hours of steep forest walking, and the third lies lower down towards Grand Étang. The falls lie above Capesterre-Belle-Eau on the east coast.
