Bo

Bo is the country's second city, a busy trading and university town that most travellers reach on the way to Tiwai island rather than for its own sake. The market runs the length of the main road and a university quarter around Njala gives the place a younger feel than most provincial towns. Little of it has ever been set up for visitors, and there is not much to see beyond ordinary Sierra Leonean city life carried on at real scale. Vehicles for Tiwai and points further south are hired or shared from here every day.
