Short description of Arikok National Park
Arikok covers close to a fifth of Aruba, the dry interior and the whole windward coast, and it is the opposite of the leeward beach strip in every way. Divi-divi trees lean permanently downwind over cactus and boulder fields, the sea comes in hard against limestone cliffs, and the sand at Dos Playa and Boca Prins is too rough to swim. The Natural Pool at Conchi, a rock basin behind a ring of boulders that the surf tops up, is reached only on foot, on horseback or by four wheel drive, and it is what most people come for.
