Arashi Beach, Aruba

Arashi Beach

Aruba · Noord · 3 m

Description

Arashi is the last beach at the northwest tip of Aruba, past the end of the hotel strip, where a reef comes close enough to shore that the snorkelling starts a few metres out. Above it the California Lighthouse stands on a bare dune ridge with the whole west coast laid out below, and it is the standard place to watch the sun go down. The little Alto Vista chapel, a bright yellow pilgrim church rebuilt in 1952 on the site of the island's first, sits alone in the cactus scrub on the north side.
