Description
Tetouan (تطوان), the “White Dove of the North”, is one of northern Morocco’s most historic cities and is renowned for its distinctive Andalusian heritage. Its UNESCO-listed medina was profoundly shaped by Andalusians who settled in the city following their expulsion from Spain from the late 15th century onwards. Their influence remains visible today in the whitewashed architecture, winding alleyways, traditional crafts, and local culture. With its exceptionally well-preserved medina and unique blend of Moroccan and Andalusian traditions, Tetouan has a character unlike anywhere else in Morocco.
