Agadir (أگادير) is a modern coastal city in southwestern Morocco and one of the country’s most important beach and holiday destinations. The city is known for its long sandy beach, mild Atlantic climate, sweeping seafront promenade, and lively markets, most notably Souk El Had. After the devastating earthquake of 1960, Agadir was largely rebuilt and today features broad boulevards, modern districts, and well-developed tourist infrastructure. Overlooking the city is the historic Kasbah of Agadir Oufella, offering panoramic views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean. Agadir combines a relaxing beach holiday with Moroccan city life and is an ideal starting point for exploring the southern Atlantic coast.
