Description
St Martin is the parish along Guernsey's south east cliffs, where a continuous footpath runs high above bays that can only be reached down steep valleys and long flights of steps. Moulin Huet, painted repeatedly by Renoir, Saints Bay and Petit Bôt lie below headlands topped with German gun positions from the occupation. Jerbourg Point marks the southern corner of the island and looks across to Herm, Sark and the French coast. Inland, Sausmarez Manor stands in grounds of subtropical planting and sculpture, and the German Occupation Museum keeps the everyday objects of the war years.
