Cobo Bay

Description
Cobo Bay is the centre of Guernsey's west coast, a bay of red granite outcrops and shallow sand that faces straight into the setting sun. The coast road runs its whole length past kiosks, a hotel and the pine covered hill of Le Guet, a lookout since the days of the island militia. To the south Vazon Bay draws the island's surfers and holds a German bunker built into Fort Hommet. Inland stand Saumarez Park with its folk museum and the wooded Talbot Valley. Low tide uncovers a wide field of rock and weed that doubles the size of the beach.
