Description

Skoura (سكورة) is a vast palm oasis east of Ouarzazate, known for its traditional villages, fertile gardens, and impressive earthen architecture. Hidden among its extensive palm groves are numerous historic kasbahs, including the famous Kasbah Amridil, which once appeared on a Moroccan banknote. These well-preserved fortified residences, with their distinctive towers and intricate earthen decorations, offer a fascinating insight into the traditional architecture and way of life of the region. Skoura is considered one of southern Morocco’s most picturesque oases and a peaceful base for exploring the pre-Saharan landscapes between the Atlas Mountains and the desert.
