Description

The Similan Islands (สิมิลัน) are among Thailand’s most spectacular archipelagos. The archipelago, consisting of nine granite and jungle-covered islands, lies off the coast of Khao Lak and is part of the Mu Ko Similan Marine National Park in the Andaman Sea. The islands are famous for their crystal-clear, turquoise waters, striking granite cliffs, powder-white sandy beaches, and an exceptionally diverse underwater world. The colorful coral reefs make the Similan Islands one of Asia’s best diving and snorkeling destinations, where, with a little luck, you can also spot manta rays and whale sharks. To protect the fragile ecosystem, the national park is open only from mid-October through mid-May and is considered one of Thailand’s most beautiful natural paradises.
