Description
Savusavu is a small coastal town in southeastern Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second-largest island, set along a deep, sheltered bay. The town is known for its steaming hot springs, which emerge at several points around the waterfront, as well as its long association with pearl farming. Offshore, the remote Namena Marine Reserve is one of Fiji’s premier diving destinations, protecting rich coral reefs and an exceptionally diverse marine environment. Inland, the Waisali Rainforest Reserve preserves native rainforest and provides habitat for rare and endemic species. Savusavu combines marine adventures, tropical landscapes and a relaxed atmosphere with the character of a traditional Pacific harbor town.
