Description
Beqa Lagoon lies off the southern coast of Viti Levu and surrounds the volcanic island of Beqa. The lagoon is internationally renowned for shark diving, with bull sharks, tiger sharks and other species regularly encountered at established dive sites. On the outer reef, Frigates is a challenging surf break known for powerful waves and access by boat. Beqa is also the traditional home of the Sawau people, whose cultural heritage is closely associated with the famous firewalking ceremony. Beyond sharks and surfing, the lagoon offers excellent snorkeling and diving among vibrant coral reefs. Nearby Pacific Harbour complements these natural attractions with cultural experiences and other activities on land.
