Description
Roraima is the highest of the tepuis at 2810 metres and the only one that can be walked up, by a natural ramp on the Venezuelan side that no rope is needed for. The trek starts at Paraitepui and takes six days there and back, two of them across savanna before the wall. On top is a black rock plateau of pitted stone, quartz beds and pools, with endemic plants that grow nowhere else and cloud closing in for most of the day. Three borders meet at the summit.
