Description
Ranthambore National Park (रणथम्भौर राष्ट्रीय उद्यान) is one of India's most famous tiger reserves and among the country's best places to observe wild Bengal tigers in their natural habitat. Once the royal hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, the park combines dry deciduous forests, rugged hills, scenic lakes and the impressive ruins of the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort to create a remarkable landscape. In addition to tigers, the park is home to leopards, sloth bears, mugger crocodiles, langurs, sambar deer and a rich variety of birdlife. Jeep and canter safaris explore different park zones, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Its unique blend of spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife and historic heritage makes Ranthambore one of Asia's most fascinating national parks.
