Description

Providencia (Isla de Providencia) is part of the Colombian San Andrés and Providencia Archipelago and is one of the most unspoiled islands in the Caribbean. Accessible only by small plane or catamaran, the island captivates visitors with its lush rainforests, steep cliffs, white-sand beaches, and a relaxed atmosphere far removed from mass tourism. Shaped by the traditional Raizal culture with its English and Creole roots, colorful wooden houses, and Caribbean serenity, Providencia has preserved its authentic character to this day. The Old Providence McBean Lagoon National Natural Park is part of the UNESCO Seaflower Biosphere Reserve and protects one of the Caribbean’s most significant coral reefs, offering ideal conditions for snorkeling and diving. Hikes up El Pico also offer spectacular views of the island and the turquoise sea. Providencia is considered one of Colombia’s most beautiful natural paradises and is an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation, nature lovers, and divers.
